Editorial Guidelines

How we research, write and correct our journalism.

Our mission

Atmoswire reports on wildlife, nature, climate and the environment. We aim to be accurate, clear and useful to readers worldwide.

Sources

Every article lists its sources. We prefer primary sources: scientific studies, official reports, and statements from named organisations. We link to them directly.

Primary Data Verification

Our article-generation system retrieves relevant institutional evidence before writing. We consult World Bank Open Data, UNDP Human Development data and OECD datasets where relevant and available. Data notes identify the institution, exact source, observation year, country, value, unit and retrieval date. A dataset update is not a new observation. If relevant data cannot be retrieved, unattended publication stops. We do not invent missing figures, imply causation from correlation, or treat institutional citations as a guarantee of search rankings. Publicly accessible data still carries licence and attribution requirements.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to assist with research and drafting. Some articles are published through an automated workflow with source checks; this is not equivalent to human editorial review. Editors can review, correct and update published articles. We never knowingly invent quotes, names or data.

Fact-checking

Automated source checks preserve the figures and metadata returned by the cited datasets. They do not replace expert judgment or guarantee that every interpretation is correct. When sources disagree, we say so and invite corrections.

Balance

On contested topics we present the main perspectives and separate facts from opinion.

Corrections

If we make a mistake, we correct it and update the article date. Send corrections to info@atmoswire.com.

Independence

Advertisers and partners have no influence on our editorial decisions. Sponsored content, if any, is clearly labelled.
